Vance C. Edwards – Obituary – Mahoning Valley


January 12, 1954 – October 21, 2021 (67 years old)

HUBBARD – Vance Christopher “Chris” Edwards, 67, died Thursday, October 21 at home.

Chris was born January 12, 1954 in Akron, a son of Vance and Doris (née Zimmerman) Edwards.

He was a trade machine repairer in Dayton with Monarch Marking and Pitney Bowes for most of his professional career. He also spent time doing landscaping and gardening work next door.

Chris was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed fishing, camping and motorcycling.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, baking cookies and barbecuing.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his silly, original songs that made everyone laugh.

He will be remembered by his mother, Doris Edwards of Cuyahoga Falls, and he will be sadly missed by his mother; his wife of 11 years, Patti Jo (née Pritchard) Edwards; her children Katie (Scott) Lee of New Albany, Kristen (Travis) Meeks of Centerville and Kurtis Edwards of Centerville, her stepchildren Shannon (Ron) VanLoozen of Aynor, SC, and Jaime (Neil) Lotarski of Streetsboro; grandchildren Hunter Lee, Max Lee, Ava Lee and Colton Meeks; step-grandchildren Carly Hagley (Bill Sawaska), Riley Dirk, Noah Dirk, Kyle Dirk, Bryce Dirk, Camille Lotarski, Delaney VanLoozen and Brock VanLoozen; great-granddaughters Leiannah Seligman and Lyla Jo Sawaska; siblings Jack (Marilyn) Edwards of Stow and Janice (Sam) Triola of Stow, Paul (Ginny) Edwards of Cuyahoga Falls, Patricia (Jim) Canterbury of Dublin and Joseph (Eva) Edwards of Chagrin Falls; and a sister-in-law, Rosalind Edwards of Cuyahoga Falls.

He was predeceased by his father Vance Edwards; her brother, Henry “Hank” Edwards; and her granddaughter, Taylor Meeks.
