Tottenham are reportedly looking to bring in Everton keeper Jordan Pickford to replace Hugo Lloris – and Spurs fans have responded.
Lloris, 34, is out of contract at the end of the season. The Spurs skipper told media this week he would like to start talks on extending his deal.
But these have not been received yet, with Lloris only six weeks away from being eligible for a pre-contractual transfer to a non-English side.
Indeed, The Telegraph claims that Antonio Conte is looking to find a replacement. He wants a keeper in his prime – Pickford of Everton.
England’s No.1 remains one of the first names on the roster for club and country. He recorded 50 clean sheets in 172 games for Everton.
The Telegraph claims Antonio Conte wants Tottenham to raid Everton and sign Pickford. Everton are confident they can get charges north of £ 25million.
What do Tottenham fans think as Conte watches Everton Pickford’s ace?
Firstly, Lloris is a top keeper and if Tottenham can get him to sign a contract for another 12 months then it’s a deal worth pursuing.
If a deal cannot be reached then Pickford is the next best alternative. He has pretty much everything Conte would want from his goalie.
Conte is said to love a goalie in his prime and Pickford is certainly that age. Financial fair play can play a role in Everton’s thinking.
They have to sell in order to spend, and selling Pickford for over £ 25million would help. Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter.
