Franck Kessie is a ‘realistic’ signing that Tottenham could complete in January – thanks to Fabio Paratici.
That’s according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly reports club news on his Lily rose social media channels.
On November 2, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Tottenham were in “advanced talks” to sign the 24-year-old AC Milan mainstay.
However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, speaking on The Last Word On Spurs podcast, insisted the midfielder’s future was still on the table.
Interestingly, he also claimed that Fabio Paratici tried to sign Kessie when he was at Atalanta.
Wenham sees Kessie as a “realistic” target that Spurs could sign during the January transfer window.
“I see this as a realistic transfer”, Wenham said Football initiate correspondent Ben Wild.
“I say this mainly because of Paratici’s previous experience in working with this type of agreement.s, it is his specialty.
âHe’s an expert at making these deals. He has done this on several occasions at Juventus.
âWe’ve seen him offer clubs a lower fee to get the player in January after they’ve already made a pre-contract deal.
âTottenham did this with Lewis Holtby. It is certainly possible and it is one of those realistic transfers.
“Kessie is a great age and as soon as you get him on a 5 year contract his value goes up to £ 40million or £ 50million.”
Tottenham have plenty of midfielders although Harry Winks and Dele Alli found themselves out of favor under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Spurs are next in action against Leeds after the international break.
In other news, an expert said De Vrij would be “seen in a Tottenham shirt soon” after an update before January.
