TNIAAM reacts: Orange fans rate Dino Babers’ performance so far in 2022

We have reached week 10 of 2022 Syracuse Orange football season, and before we dive into the final third of the regular season, we asked you all to give us some insight. Now that the results are in, here’s how Orange Nation feels ahead of the final four games:

Almost everyone gave Dino Babers a passing grade for training this season, and 65% of you gave it a “B”. That’s probably where I stand too. So far in his 7th season with SU, Babers has guided the Orange to a 6-2 start, a ranking with more than NC status, and one month in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25. Probably the biggest complaint is Clemson missing out on a winnable game — but all things considered, the only two losses were against nationally recognized programs. A bowl berth with a serious chance of more than six wins is quite respectable.

Nearly half of the respondents opted for the Atlanta product, which did an admirable job replacing injured Stefon Thompson at LB. In 6 games, McDonald had 32 tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception. Oh, and that’s another guy from Newhouse BDJ. It’s really very rare to see a football or MBB player be able to handle the course load that comes with being in the journalism program while killing it on the athletic side, so hats off to him.

The second crisis is in the rearview mirror of Carter, who has become one of the Orange defense’s greatest playmakers. He has three takeaways this season so far: two interceptions and a 90-yard TD at Clemson. It’s tied with the injured Garrett Williams for team leader. I think Mikel Jones said it best, “If you know Ja’Had Carter, that’s what he does.”

It was closer than the others, but our latest poll indicates that CDRW will make its first college start tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Panthers. He looked pretty good against our Lady, slinging for 190 meters, a TD and an inclined choice. Our inspiration could theoretically be there to back him up if Shrader isn’t ready to go – No. 11 lives just north of Steel City.

Thank you all, as always, for taking the polls, and feel free to offer your thoughts and suggestions for future questions in the comments.
