Tiffany Haddish and Wesley Snipes will direct the cast of the comedy “Back on the Strip”.
Chris Spencer is making his directorial debut on the new film which will be funded, produced and distributed by brand new Luminosity Entertainment.
The film will also star JB Smoove, Faizon Love, Bill Bellamy, Gary Owen, Raigan Harris, Piper Curda and Spence Moore II. Spencer co-wrote the project with Eric Daniel.
The film follows Merlin (Moore II), who moves to Las Vegas to pursue his dream of becoming a magician after losing the woman of his dreams.
When a costume malfunction reveals his physical “gifts”, he is recruited to become the leader of an infamous group of male magazines. The comedy chronicles a series of getaways as Merlin tries to be successful as a magician while chasing the girl of his dreams and finding a family in the process.
Spencer said: “We have assembled an incredible cast with the greatest comedic talent in the industry. It is a privilege to direct this film, a film that I have co-wrote and which has a cast of this caliber for. my first feature film. “
The film was directed by producers Geno Taylor and Missy Valdez, with Wesley and Tiffany also producers.
Haddish is also expected to star and produce the film “Mystery Girl”.
The 41-year-old signed up for the Netflix movie, directed by McG and based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name created by Paul Tobin and Alberto Alburquerque.
Tiffany will play Trine, an off-grid street psychic in Los Angeles. Trine has no memory of who she is or where she came from, but is guided by an omniscient voice in her head that knows everyone’s business and everyone’s darkest secrets.
