Sunderland could find Clarke 2.0 in Moreno

Sunderland are still in the market to add to their Championship squad before the end of the summer transfer window.

Black Cats boss Alex Neil recently confirmed that he would like to bring in at least four new players to strengthen his team in the coming weeks.

One route the club could take is to look at Premier League reserves who have to drop out of a league to launch their careers.

They did that when they signed Jack Clarke from Tottenham this year and he had an instant impact on his league debut for the club last weekend.

The jewel Mark in a 1-1 draw with Coventry and succeeded a goal and Three assist in 11 starts for the club on loan in Ligue 1 last season.

He wasn’t getting game time at Spurs and the flying winger now has the chance to move to the Stadium of Light, which they can now replicate by taking on Marlos Moreno.

AS Colombia reported last month that the Black Cats are one of three teams keen on a agreement to sign Manchester City striker.

Would you like to see Sunderland sign Moreno this summer?

norwich oned Bristol City have also been named as potential suitors for the winger, who can play on the flank or in the middle.

Manchester City chief Txiki Begiristain praisesd the gem upon his arrival at the Etihad for £4.5mtelling the official club website:

“Marlos is an excellent prospect who has already made it into his national team.

“He’s a versatile player, who’s still learning, but we think he has a fantastic future in the game and with City. He scores and scores goals and he’s a smart footballer, we’re delighted with him. ‘have signed.’

The striker was tipped for big things back then as South American football journalist Tim Vickery said: “There are no guarantees but not since Sergio Aguero, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar have I been so excited about a young player.”

However, he did not play a single match for the club since arriving in England as he took several loans away from Pep Guardiola’s side.

Meanwhile, he has shown promising signs that suggest he could be the next Clarke to come from a top team and have a big impact on the away team.

Moreno product five goals and four assists in 23 league appearances on loan at Lommel SK and managed eight goals and new assists in 41 games for Atletico Nacional earlier in his career.

It shows that there is a player out there who is capable of being a game winner when he is at his best, but he may need a stable home, like Clarke did, to show his talent consistently, with him still having plenty of time by his side at the age of 25.

Therefore, the Black Cats should now attempt to sign the magician on a permanent basis in the hope that he will be another Premier League prospect who will have a positive impact on their team.
