The Syracuse Orange took the win last night, beating Liberty by a score of 24-21 via a last second field goal. But there’s a lot more college football this weekend, and we have a whole day ahead of us this Saturday.
As College Gameday wraps up this morning, here’s how to watch ACC games all day long, as well as some of the other top games in the country.
(every hour ET)
British Columbia are already rife with injuries this season, which won’t do them much good against a Missouri team that doesn’t have much trouble finding the end zone. Dennis Grosel can handle a game, but it will largely be a committee racing game on offense.
New Hampshire Wildcats at Pittsburgh Panthers, noon (ACC Extra Network)
Pitt lost to Tim Lester’s Western Michigan team last week and then told everyone the game didn’t matter. This game doesn’t do it by Pat Narduzzi’s definition either, but the Panthers should be able to overtake even a very good UNH team.
Richmond spiders at Virginia tech hokies, noon (ACC network)
Tech is ready to bounce back from a narrow loss to West Virginia last time around. This game shouldn’t be a problem for the Hokies. And if so, Justin Fuente gets fired.
Blue Devils from Central Connecticut State to Miami hurricanes, 12:30 p.m. (ESPN3)
Miami not being able to keep up with Alabama was understandable in Game 1. The grinding of the Appalachian State was less so. And then get trampled Michigan State last week has a talented team of ‘Canes in shock. CCSU should be a remedy for what ails them (at least temporarily).
No. 9 Clemson Tigers at NC State Wolfpack, 3:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Come on because Dave Doeren and Dabo Swinney hate each other. Stick with Clemson who potentially struggles to score more than 20 points. Everyone is quite intrigued by the implosion of the Tigers offense at this point, and rightly so.
The FSU is getting closer and closer to a total implosion, if it isn’t already. A loss to Louisville would likely do the trick – and the Cardinals ‘offense is good enough to get rid of the’ Noles. There is a debate to be had as to whether Florida State losing this weekend means beating SU next weekend is more likely.
Don’t do that to yourself. But if you do, expect to see a Duke win. Kansas is insanely bad, beating South Dakota by just three points and getting trampled by both Coastal Carolina and Baylor. The Blue Devils should therefore be able to handle them.
The Heels offense has seemed to reappear in the last two games after just 10 points against. Virginie Tech, scoring 59 points against Georgia State and Virginia. Georgia Tech cannot score points. It will not be pleasant to watch.
