Pierre-Hojbjerg calls Dejan Kulusevski a ‘magician’ in Tottenham training

It’s safe to say that Dejan Kulusevski has had a positive impact on things at Tottenham since his arrival in January.

The Swedish winger was signed alongside Rodrigo Bentancur and immediately improved things for Spurs in wide areas. A number of fine performances caught the eye, and he played a role midweek and helped Conte’s side see Brighton.

Of course, Kulusevski’s performances are getting a bit of attention in North London. And it looks like his efforts are going well with the Tottenham squad as well. Indeed, just look at the latest Spurs training video on YouTube and you’ll see Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg refer to Kulusevski as “a magician, a Swedish magician” as the players leave to warm up.

Hojbjerg clearly knows a player when he sees one and the Scandinavian connection might have helped Kulusevski settle in a little easier. Being called a magician by a teammate is also a compliment. But in all honesty, ‘Kulu’ deserves the credit it gets.

TBR’s perspective: Kulusevski one of January’s best signings

Some may have questioned the logic of bringing in another winger in January, but Conte has always been adamant that he wants to see improvements and he has it with Kulusevski.

It proves how well he is doing that Lucas Moura is kept out. The Brazilian was superb for Spurs himself but Kulusevski appears to have taken the ball and run with it.

Don’t doubt, it’s a great deal from Spurs. And while they may have missed Luis Diaz, Kulusevski at least delivers his own moments.
