2018 was a amazing year for the Nintendo Switch, with so many great games released on the portable powerhouse, the least of which was Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in December.

So now that the Christmas tree has been cut down and you’ve sworn not to look at another pie for at least 12 months, what’s on the horizon for Nintendo Switch fans in this new year we call 2019? We’ve compiled a list of all the good stuff coming out to retail in January and February, so feast your eyes on and pack your wallets – it could be painful.

Now this one is out in December in Europe, but it is out in January in North America, so we’ll mention it one last time.

If you’re in the mood to rock Joy-Con this Christmas, you might like to buy Fitness Boxing for your Switch. Unfortunately, the United States will have to wait until the New Year to fight with this one. Get off the sofa and get moving with fun, boxing-based rhythm exercises, set to the instrumental rhythms of songs by popular artists. You can customize your workouts by choosing from different fitness goals. Train your way, whether you’re alone, with a friend, at home, or on the go!

If you’ve never had the pleasure of playing this game on Wii U, then you’re in for a treat. New Super Mario Bros. U is one of the best Mario 2D platformer actions known to man, so it’s a welcome addition to the ever-growing Switch library. Luigi’s first leading role in a platform adventure, New Super Luigi U, also gets the luxury treatment and comes packaged.

Hit the road in a whole new adventure with the most hardcore otaku assassin in the game. Enter the world of Death Drive Mark II, and fight your way out of its various games. Pass a Joy-Con to a friend for local co-op, with special team charge attacks. You won’t want to miss this latest game from visionary director Suda51.

While we wait for the inevitable Nintendo Direct of January where it’s revealed which Wii U port we’ll have for February, we’re not sure what to highlight here.

Our pick of the current crop of Switch retail games for February is Ubisoft’s Trials Rising. In-game, you’ll explore the massive action and physical motorcycle racing in the latest edition of the Trials franchise. Brand new features, more competitions and more tracks mean more to play!
