Springfield 4 @ MN Wizards 3 (SO) – The Jr. Blues moved to a tie for 1st place in the Midwest Division thanks to a 4-3 shootout victory Thursday against the Magicians. Leo Bacallao scored twice in the win. The Magicians took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period with a goal from Hunter Longhi. Bacallao then scored consecutive goals in the 2n/a period to make it 2-1. Gavin Best scored for the Magicians before the end of the period to make it 2-2. In the 3rd period, Springfield took a 3-2 lead on a Carson Jones goal. With less than a minute left, the Magicians tied the game on Best’s second goal of the night. In the shootout, the Jr. Blues scored Isaac Novak’s only goal. Ethan Roberts made 34 saves in the win. Josh Langford made 34 saves in the shootout loss.

St. Cloud 4 @ Northern Iowa 2 – Blake Perbix and Ryan O’Neill each had a goal and two assists as the Norsemen won their third straight game in a 4-2 victory at Northern Iowa on Thursday. St. Cloud took a 2-0 lead with a 1st period goal from Blake Mesenburg and a goal at the start of the 2n/a O’Neill period. Later in the 2n/a period, the Bulls tied the game at 2-2 with goals from Casey Roepke and Jack Campion. In the 3rd period, goals from Brandon Lajoie and Perbix secured the victory. Norsemen keeper Tomas Bolo made 30 saves in the win, while Hunter Garvey made 25 saves in the loss.
