Games with Gold: Slayaway Camp Butcher’s Cut and Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy are now free

The first wave of Games with Gold for October is already here, arriving shortly after yesterday’s game reveal was announced. Two more games can now be claimed by Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members as part of their benefits. This time, Microsoft offers Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cup for Xbox One and the original Xbox title Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy for Xbox 360.

Keep in mind that the latter can also be claimed by those who own Xbox One consoles thanks to the classic game being in the backward compatibility program.

A Gold activated account must be used to claim the duo using the store links listed below:

Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cup (Xbox One)

A killer puzzle game where you control Skullface, a psychotic slasher bent on revenge. Slide this adorably insane murderer through hundreds of isometric puzzle levels to crush, skin and behead the hapless victims in this dark and comedic homage to ’80s horror films.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (Xbox 360 and Xbox One)

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is an original third-person action-adventure game inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology. Sphinx’s journey will require courage, agility, and special powers. He will also count on his reluctant hero friend, the Mummy, to help him out when being discreet is the only solution.

Xbox One Gold members who missed The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 from the previous wave of giveaways still have until October 15 to claim the title before it is replaced by Maid of Sker. Meanwhile, Game Pass Ultimate holders have five more games coming up in the first week of October.

Keep in mind that all Xbox 360 games claimed through these Games with Gold promotions will remain playable even if the Xbox Live Gold subscription is terminated. However, the claimed Xbox One games are only available when the account is actively subscribed to Gold.
