Harry Redknapp believes Frank Lampard may have to part ways with Richarlison this summer to improve Everton’s squad, but may see the Toffees struggle again next season.
Richarlison, 25, was Everton’s best player despite his side’s poor campaign last season, scoring ten goals and five assists in the Premier League.
Lampard’s men finished the season two places and four points above the relegation zone.
Redknapp claims Lampard may have to sell the Brazilian or face another daunting task of trying to keep Everton in the English top flight again, with a reduced squad.
And his comments come as Richarlison has turned down interest from Arsenal, with Tottenham and Chelsea linked with an interest in the striker.
“He [Richarlison] has abilities, there’s no doubt about that,” Redknapp, Lampard’s uncle, told talkSPORT Breakfast.
“He can drive you crazy sometimes when you see him diving and whatever he’s doing.
“He can definitely play, though, and score, and he’s been able to get some assists.

“But if Frank doesn’t have the money to spend, he’s going to have to sell. Sometimes you have to sell your best player to try to get two or three.
“He [Lampard] must strengthen this team. This team that Everton have right now, they are going to struggle.
“I’m desperate for them [Everton] to be fair, I’ve hit every ball with Frank this season, but I think they’re still going to struggle.
Richarlison, even before the relegation dogfight, had hinted that he might move away from Goodison Park.
Spurs appear set to propel Arsenal forward, having reportedly entered ‘advanced negotiations’ for the £50million-rated striker.
Richarlison could be part of a sellout that is set to happen, as Lampard looks to raise funds to build his lackluster squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Everton have been linked with several names in the past, such as Chelsea trio Levi Cowell, Billy Gilmour and Conor Gallagher who were touted to join club legend Lampard in the blue half of Merseyside.
They have also been linked with underprivileged Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks who is surplus to requirements for Antonio Conte.
It’s likely that only the sale of Richarlison could trigger some of these trades, in what could end up being an unwanted sale to a much needed one.
