Square Enix has unveiled a new TGS 2022 trailer for Treasures of Dragon Quest. The trailer shows off some of the game’s opening scenes, along with new footage of siblings Erik and Mia exploring the land with their monster allies in search of treasure.
Mia wakes Erik from the top of a departing bunk bed. The two equip themselves with useful tools and befriend spirit guides Purrsula and Porcus before their treasure-hunting adventures begin. Several regions are depicted, including a grassy field, a place surrounded by lava, a sandy desert, and a snowy region.
As previously shared, Erik and Mia can use their monsters to cross the land in Dragon Quest Treasures; they can slip or roll on some people’s backs and more. A few clips of combat surfaces as well, with Erik using a slingshot to deal damage to his enemies while other friendly monsters help him deal damage. A friendly Killing Machine monster also triggers its special attack.
After a few instances of Erik and Mia successfully finding treasure in the trailer, there’s a dedicated cutscene where Mia and Erik talk to other friendly monsters to boost them on their quest. New images of what appear to be the antagonists are also shown, including a purple skeleton pirate.
Dragon Quest Treasures releases December 9 on Nintendo Switch.
