Bombay, June 22 (IANS): Actress Arushi Sharma, who plays the female lead in the upcoming Netflix movie “Jaadugar” which also features Jitendra Kumar, says she couldn’t have asked for a better OTT debut.
The story of the film revolves around a young man Meenu who is a magician, a football player and in love with a girl who does not reciprocate his emotion.
Arushi plays Meenu’s girlfriend named Dr. Disha Chabbra.
Sharing more about her character, Arushi said, “It was a heartwarming experience for me to play Disha. Playing a doctor is an honor in itself. She is a simple girl who loves her father and is ambitious about his career. As life did, his paths crossed with Jeetu, the path of a magician and life took a huge leap. In fact, I can really relate to Disha because, just like her, in the blink of an eye, with a justly destined incident, my life took a leap forward.”
The actress claims her entry into Bollywood happened by chance while she was studying engineering and she auditioned for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’ director and landed the role alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
“I was studying Information Technology Engineering when Imtiaz Ali was auditioning for ‘Tamasha’. He liked my job and that’s how I performed ‘Sanyukta’ opposite Ranbir in Tamasha, after which ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ has arrived to reach the right place at the right time,” Ayushi shared.
Asked about his chemistry with Jeetu in the upcoming ‘Jaadugar’ and Ayushi said, “I can’t wait for my fans to see us together. Jitendra is a phenomenal actor and it was a pleasure to work with him. I’m sure everyone everyone is going to love Dimple and Jeetu. I couldn’t have asked the universe for a better OTT debut!”
